The wife of the counselor to the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the UAE, Karina Mamash, is in one of Astana’s crisis centers. She is currently being interrogated by law enforcement agencies and has been provided a lawyer.
“Her husband’s relatives live in Karina Mamash’s apartment. We are in touch with her mother. Karina was brought in for questioning. According to her mother, they ask her questions such as “Maybe you were drunk” and so on. Whether she is accompanied by a lawyer, whether someone could give her support now is still unknown,” wrote Dina Smailova on Instagram.
She added that Karina Mamash has already been assigned a lawyer. He is scheduled to speak on May 10.
“Her mother and sister are in the same crisis center (her mother arrived from the Russian Federation on the same day). Karina with children are in another crisis center. Just so you understand: a crisis center is not a hotel or even a hostel. Almat and Dina saw that in one of these centers 20 people were placed in one room at the same time,” notes Dina Smailova.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced that they were recalling the counselor to the embassy in the UAE, who is accused of beating his wife.
